Software almost kills the hardware buy

May 23rd, 2007 · No Comments

Well the household saving account has actually gotten close to that point were we can start looking for a new computer. As a mac head the new iMac are number one choice. Plus the wife likes the look of them.

One big problem. Software. Sure it comes with everything but what about the motherload of graphic design software for the new iMac, Adobe Creative Suite, native for the new Intel Mac chip. Hell the softwares purchase price is more than the cost of the new iMac that I was looking at.

So time to start the search for some cheap software from a reliable online source. Not one of those $89 download this super hot version of software. No I need to find a place that sells real software at what I’d call a fair price.

I searched around and I found this site called depricer.com. They buy cheap computer software products in huge lots and sell it for what I like to call a nice price. The software comes from stores that go out of business or even direct from the software manufacturers and sometimes-even auctions.

The depricer.com website aims to sell low cost tools & utilities, games, screensavers, business software and even something for the iMac owner DVD to iPod converters. So it looks like all my software won’t cost as much as the new machine.
