More designer help

March 7th, 2007 · No Comments

The quest for a good designing experience can option be found in a good book. I’ve seen quite a few art directors at some advetising agencies flipping through some award review books. I’m sure they are not just stealing any ideas, right, they are just trying get inspired.

Another option for you since you’re currently online reading this blog would be some internet based help. If you are looking for a simple website design idea you should look online.

For most projects you do not have to spend hours and hours writing custom good for a basic site.

You can create some very effective sites by looking at things from a more simple perspective. There is no use having spent hours and hours developing some flash opening screen if the user is just looking for some basic info.

Today I was looking for some information about the big snow storm that was moving through our region. I closed three windows on some news websites because their pages were loading tons of extra crap.

If they had a more simple design the sites would have loaded faster. I could have found the info and than clicked anything else of interest.

I’m sure you have had the same thing happen to you. So if you are in the process of designing a website please remember the end user. You can convince your clients that simple is better by showing them some good examples. You can convince any end user that simple is better once they have spent some time on your site and your page views go through the roof.
