One of the bigger parts of my buddy’s new business venture is the trade shows that they will be attending. Actually the term trade show might be overkill. Lets call them hobby shows. That sounds like the events might be geared towards kids but the reality is that certain hobby shows rack i the bucks for the vendors and the people who organize the shows.
the guys will have a small display set up with some samples of the models that they have created. they really don’t want to haul hundreds of different models to each show and they will be offering the ability for people to have the models delivered unpainted or painted.
We released pretty quickly that they needed one thing. Its an old tech business tool but they guys really needed some business cards make up so they could hand then out at the shows. Its was no use making up some fancy brochure because they guys wanted people to visit their website so the people could see even more of their models.
The thing with designing the business card was that they wanted it to make some sort of powerful statement. If people left the show with a nice professional designed business card they would be likely to visit their website. the guys have been collecting different business cards over the past few weeks trying to get some examples. The beauty business cards that they showed me had some great photo layouts so they might use those ideas and include some photos from their models. Problem was that they can not really decide which photo they should include on the business card. They had found some business cards for lawyers that had some pretty cool layouts. They had a photo on one side and than they listed the contact info on the other side. It was a simple solution but you would be surprised by how many people have business cards that only have info on one side. Save some money short term but you lose the ability to make a really good lasting impression.
