I can’t even really remember what I said that got me in the deep well of trouble with the wife. We were watching some chick flick on TV last night. Besides the fact that the story line was absolute crap I added to my misery by actually responding to a question with a honest opinion.
To say something like “only an idiot” would appreciate a love letter is not going to win you any points in the old martial bliss department. Maybe I’m out to lunch since I’m been out of the game for so long but really would any guy actually send a nice real love letter?
Thinking back in time to when I actually had to put some effort into the whole love chase game I do remember that some nicely worded love notes did help smooth the waters in some situations. but that was after I usually hit a rough patch in the old romance process. Usually it was not some well thought out big prose just some little short note to help repair some damage done with the big mouth. I think the trick was just like any writing project, keep it simple.
It might be time to bust out some of the old tricks this weekend in a quest to repair the post idiot comment. Maybe a nice little romantic note left behind among the dirty dishes might do the trick. I’ll know if it worked but how clean the dishes will be.
