Part of my get away time actually involved doing some work for a friend of mine. He’s starting up a new online business and he wanted some help in getting the word out to folks. Since his site is currently getting a major rework I won’t mention the site.

Well one possible solution was the use of some website directories. These directories list websites based on user interest so once people find the directories they can sually find websites that interest them.

We found one site that provide plenty of information on all the different directories that are on the internet. They had one section that listed plenty offree directories. Since my friends start up budget was limited that appeared to be a good place to start. Some of these free one seemed to be newer so he decided to expand his strategy.
Another section on the website listed some inexpensive paid directories which seemed appealing. But even those $10 fees can quickly add up so we decided on only using a few of the lower priced directories.
