So I spent some more time looking around out west before the move. Everything seemed to be rolling along fine post interview. I checked in with them and they seemed happy with everything. They had checked out some of my work projects. I found out that they had called some of my references so everything seemed to be rolling along.
I was looking at some Tri-Cities homes again and I noticed another region that I missed in my earlier searches. The Benton City Real Estate area seemed perfect for the kids if we really wanted to escape any sense of city living. With only about 2,800 people in the town that would make it smaller than some apartment building complexes in NYC.
The small town feel is really something to consider. The other cities in the region are small but I figure if you are going to be living in a small town you may as well go all the way. All the listing in the Benton City Wa Real Estate seemed to reflect that small town feel. The pricing was slightly better that the other regions. The lots sizes seemed to be a little bit bigger in all the listings.
One thing that was different was that all the schools in the town are located next to each other on one street. That would make for some interesting traffic jams when everyone is dropping their kids off at school. But maybe everyone just walks that would be different.
Well I was checking some more listing in the Benton City Real Estate area when I got an email notice. No big deal get them all the time. But it was from my source out on the west coast which said – Job Update. So the tension mounts and I finally click the icon. Well turns out I won’t be enjoying the west coast lifestyle after all. Turns out this nice small town company really wanted to stay small town so they hired the cousin of the person who works in accounting. Seriously they totally blew off all my skills just so they could hire someone from the area. They were worried that I might not want to relocate to the area. I should be getting a nice phone call from them tomorrow giving me the official brsuh off.
