Career path changes

November 8th, 2007 · No Comments

One the biggest stories right now is the changes in the labour markets. There are plenty of positions that are not being filled. At the same time you have some auto manufacturers laying off thousands of employees.

So whats happened is that people really have not been thinking about the furture when they select a career. Short term choices don’t work in the long term. Its time some people realized that they need to make some serious career decisions. One possible career path might be into the health field. All those baby boomers are starting to get older and they’ll have money to burn when they retire. Getting a nursing education now could lead to a solid caerer down the road.

When you look at the aging demographics in North America you realize that some fields are going to need some new employees real soon. While it might be a quick solution to just get an entry level health care worker job getting some higher profile degree would pay off in the long run. It might be unrealistic to enroll into med school and become a doctor but a nursing education can take several years less and deliver you a nice career path. Many nurses who graduate find that they can pick and choose where they want to work because there is such a shortage in some areas of the country. So you could end up with a flexible and well paying career in a few short years.
